About the Director

Love Nafi (Nofisat Almaroof, MD) is a Nigerian-American filmmaker, writer, and creative force who channels bold Afro-millennial narratives into work that uplifts, disrupts, and heals.

A former family medicine physician and Army Major (15'-21'), she now leads Love Nafi Productions, where she writes, directs, and produces socially resonant stories exploring identity, unapologetic transformation, and love. She earned her B.A. in Youth Development and Performing Arts from NYU’s Gallatin School of Individualized Study.

Love Nafi has been featured in PopSugar, Madam Noire, Blavity, and Bustle, and was named a Sony Rising Storyteller Search semifinalist. She has been recognized by major brands including Essence and Dove for her avant-garde storytelling and social impact. She has also contributed her production and creative expertise to films selected in various esteemed festivals, including the Pan African Film Festival and Martha’s Vineyard African American Film Festival among others.

Her indie catalog includes three original docuseries, over twenty-eight episodes of two unscripted series, a feature-length documentary, and several narrative shorts. Her work thrives at the intersection of social justice, wellness, and radical creative expression.
