The Queen City Film Festival (NJ) is a community centric film festival based in the historic city of Plainfield, New Jersey; a north central jersey hub for culture, cuisine, music, art and film. Located 25 miles southwest of Tribeca in lower Manhattan, Plainfield is set with two train stations along the NJ Transit Raritan Valley Line and is a quick easy commute to and from from New York City.

Produced by Plainfield based nonprofit Queen City Film & Television Workshop,This year's festival is scheduled to take place Oct 18 -20, 2024  and boasts a three day schedule of films from 7 categories including shorts, docs, digital series, horror and features.   The festival aims to nurture and promote local filmmakers while also providing a world class stage for film producers from across the globe.

Since our first event as a pop-up local short film showcase, we have screened films from 52 countries including some African nations, Japan, England, Canadian provinces and Brazil.  Queen City Film Festival has grown to become a platform of expression, audience cultivation and professional development for filmmakers across the underrepresented diaspora of Black, Latinx ,Asian, Female, and LGBTQ creatives.

Over these years we have provided a space for developing and seasoned filmmakers to gather critical feedback for their independent work, while aiming to connect audiences with emerging talent through thoughtful curation. QCFFNJ has also pledged to create ongoing programming that promotes career education and development in preparation for the growing television and motion picture industry in New Jersey.

The festival offers youth mentoring and internships for youth and area students. The Plainfield Film and Television Production Training / Future Filmmakers program hosted by QCFTVW has afforded dozens of local youth access to the tools of film production, direct contact with accomplished professionals, academic and career counseling along with placement in film and tv jobs.
