THE FILM FUTURE CLUB

is a hands on training program for students between the ages of 15 & 24, interested in film and television production as a career.

​

The program is delivered to underserved communities through the QUEEN CITY FILM AND TELEVISION WORKSHOP, a nonprofit based in Union County NJ and students are taught how to be an effective Production Assistant, Camera PA, ART / PD Assist and APOC/ PM Training

​

Candidates are provided free access to equipment, resources and instruction on business practice and production operation, produce their own work and follow the promotional journey with launches, premieres and screenings. Elite candidates advance to placement on larger productions through internships and those showing true proficiency will receive job placement and guidance through program partner -

The Ida P. Smith Film Fund Scholarship is a bi-annual scholarship administered through the Film Future Club After School Program exclusively provided by Queen City Film & Television Workshops Educational Programs Division. The scholarship,  available only to registered members of the Film Future Club who have successfully completed (1) one course of study.  Eligible Candidate must be graduating seniors from a public school in Union County New Jersey,  must meet a minimum GPA and professional standards requirement. A candidate may only receive the scholarship once.

 

QCFTVW is a NJ based 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization

THE FILM FUTURE Club is a college and career preparation after school  program. The program provides free access to equipment, training, lectures, exercises, field trips and expert instructors to students, from underserved communities, who are interested in careers in film and television production.

​

WHO: Students in Grades 10 –12
WHEN: Oct 2023 thru Dec 2023
COST: FREE

WHAT DO WE DO?

  • Provide 2 weekly 2 hour meetings focused on group activities, lecture and projects regarding film & television

  • Learn Screenwriting, Camera Operation, Directing, Audio

  • Internship opportunities with production companies based or filming locally in the region

  • Field trips to popular film & tv production facilities , active film sets, screenings, workshops, mini film projects

  • Guest speakers providing insight and motivation into career field of interest

  • Career workshops focused on job resumes, interview skills, financial literacy, time management, and organizational skills

  • College Advisement (college applications & admissions, testing, financial aid, scholarships, and college life)
